I finally got of my ass and installed my Raingler Net I received at NXM 3. I can't believe how easy it was to install. Plus not to mention the safety factor with all that stuff behind me kept back there.

I have to say this project took me about 2 hours but the first hour was just removing everything in the back of the X. Then 15 mins to install then 45 mins to get everything to go back in. I reorganized a little or forgot something because it just seems cleaner back there.

So I decided to change up my on board air setup. I removed one of the 5 gallon tanks. This way my departure angle is higher and It does not hange down to far now after the body lift.

Such a nice set up for all your gear..I need something like that

x2. That looks really good, Metz. I like me some organizational pron.

Thanks guys, It took me awhile to put that together. I want to re due the whole thing. Make it all sit on the floor with a hinge or slider to lift/slide the tool box to get to the underneath storage. and make a level surface.

I need to get off my ass and do some mods.

-Figure out how to fix this wheel well liner till I get my snorkel ordered, also need to figure out if I need to trim more if i'm turning and flexing out.
-Install the new 5 switch holder for the dash with front locker wire up and duel battery switch relocation
-there are a few others but these need to be done.

So I got of my ass and did a 30 second mod. After going to 35's and having to trim a lot the fenders did not anyplace to attach to the wheel well protector anymore in the cut off location. So that area had to go. Going to look into creating a rubber one sometime to replace it.

So I finally got my M226 regeared to 4.56's. I have to say is night and day driving. I have not been above 50mph but the RPM's will be high at 70+. I'm still working on breaking them in. Since Pics or it did not happen here are the left overs. Which are up for sale in the parts area. So starting in 2nd gear now feels like first use too!!!! And another good point is they originally quoted me $650 then called back and said with this diff it will be more like $725. And with no other place that has a great rep around I reluctantly went for it. I have to say when i went to pay for my bill I was expecting $900+ since they had to install, uninstall, wait for a part (mix up in the shipping, not their fault), Install again. And it was on there lift for 4 business days. I asked the lady how much? $540.50 out the door with taxes. I don't think they realized how close our axle was to the ?D44? which they see a lot of. Now only 70 more miles till I can drive it normally. On top of that I need to do a offroad break in for the front and rear in 4x4.

You better trailer up the two jeeps two. Otherwise it will be a long repairing drive. I hope to see your beast up there. What trails you signed up for?

more spare parts. Note to myself. Do not order anything fedex if possible. They just leave stuff outside my door. Problem is with my schedule that can end up being two weeks. So it will go missing. Vs UPS drops it off at the front office if I'm not home.

The specs say 38lbs. Which some says sounds a lot but in the scheme of my rig it will just fit right in. I still have yet to receive it. Its been ordered but I've heard they take a while to ship as pullpal builds as ordered. Very few places are allowed to keep them in stock.

Sand anchors like that can be real life savers.

The other use around here at least is in the Pine Barrens...where "trees" are wee bush like gnarly scrub pines, etc, that you'd be hard pressed to tie your dog to.

:D

Typically, if one truck gets stuck in deep boot sucking mud, another truck will simply be pulled TO the stuck truck, as the stuck one has more traction....and the recovery rig slides. That can lead to a daisy chain of rigs lined up to do a recovery, just to be more anchored than the stuck rig. A sand anchor/pullpal type set-up means that ONE rig might be able to anchor enough to act as a stationary point to pull FROM, as well as enable a stuck rig to self-recover.

:D

I worry while out in the desert, sand or dry lake bottom mud (not so dry ) on one of my solo runs. Been close on both before but got out ok.
Could be a life saver.
I always have my SPOT with me, but that could be a day or more for rescue.

Dang, Metz. I've seen those for a while and I've been thinking about them, but I never knew how much they were. You've got quite the part collection going lately...

I like being prepared, but I was never a boy scout... I'm a loner and normally go out solo when I do. My mentality is always rely on yourself others with fail you.

Yeah they are pricey. But if you read any of the review about the ones that are availible. Most self recovery devices only work in one type of ground. Or non at all. This one I've never heard a single complaint about besides the price. Which if people will spend 400-1200 dollars on a winch is not that bad once you think that winch is worthless if you don't have large trees. or weird rock structures to mount to.

^^^^ EXACTLY!! ^^^^

We think a lot alike in that regard.

Dave

Me too, sir. Me too.

It is a very rare occasion where I have to ask anyone I'm with if they have a spare part or a certain tool. Normally it would be the other way around.

I have to say this thing is much bigger then I ever thought. It is crazy. I understand why it cost what it dose. The quality is like no other. Just for reference it makes storing a high lift seem small and easy. Assembly is no problem. Now hopefully I will never have to use it!!!

Man, the little tabs that attach the spade have to take the entire line load of winching out a stuck vehicle...that's incredible. I thought for sure the spade would be welded on with gussets.
