Looks good Kelly! I'm diggin the bumper! :)

Thank you! Custom built and hopefully more will be made because it's a clean style.

i like where you put the cb, does it get in the way of your passengers? Im still trying to figure out where to put mine

My bf is a mess in the passenger seat and we just recently took a 6 hour round trip and he didn't hit it once- so I'd say it's a pretty good spot so far :)

Oooo I like your bumper...and the blue highlights. :p Rig is looking better each day. How long did it take to clean out your interior?

Thanks Mel :) I was going back and forth between Yellow, White, and Sonic Blue- the blue turned out to be the best accent color ^_^ My boyfriend surprised me with cleaning the interior! I'm guessing it took him a couple hours lol

Oh man that was some serious mud inside there, nice bumper too miss.

FIFY ;)

It's not fun until you get dirty ^_^

Wow, awesome bf for doing all the dirty work (literally)! Now you gotta get out there and play in the dirt and mud with the new bumper. :)

Yup, a keeper in my book :D

He made me promise to keep the interior clean at least for a week. So I'll just go through some mud with the windows closed next time hehe

Kelly, is there anyway you can take detailed pictures of the tire gate at the hinge on one side and the pin on the other side? Also, does he have any plans of producing more?

Sure! I included some close-ups here. He might produce some more (locals first cuz it's easier) but he needs to make some tweaks to the design- and to be honest he wants to figure out if it's worth his time to produce these while he is busy at school. He didn't have my vehicle to physically work on (it was an Xmas gift he kept a secret) while he was building this so he basically went off of calculations and dimensions he was given by fellow X'ers. The placement of the tire needs to be thought out again because I can only open the hatch at a "sweet spot" when the tire is swung out. and he is also changing the design of the pin instead of the current one. The thicker tubing and dual hing design is for added strength (I'll be adding bigger tires on in the future) so not all of his will be like this, and plus the lower hinge gets in the way of the shackle so that needs to be redesigned as well. So far this is a test bumper :)

Kelly, is the right side shackle a pain when you are getting in and out of the back of the truck? It seems like it would get caught behind the gate when you go to close it back? Just curious

Yeah it catches me off-guard every time- gets caught on the swing arm and moves the entire X until I realize what happened. This being his first bumper built for an Xterra (without actually having the Xterra to work on), it turned out great with just a few tweaks needed.

I think later this year we will build another one for it with the tire in a different location, and the shackles placed a little differently.

Is that a happy face on the end of that pin or are you just happy I posted here?

Haha Brennen did that when he made it! I feel bad because I didn't even notice it until i was taking the close-up pictures :p

Why thank you :)

as rear bumpers go, I like the look of this one....I think if I were the one building though, I'd move the hinge and possibly the latch over to the side of the bumper like mel's is, I like that idea a lot, lets you have the full width of the bumper, possibly even letting you sling the tire a little bit lower....

No matter what little issues there are with it, over all it is pretty awesome that he did that for you and without really having your vehicle for fitment reasons it came out really nice. For him to do this for your X shows he must care about what means something to you and that makes him alright in my book.

Very true. It has to be the best gift I have ever gotten ^_^ He worked hard sneaking behind my back talking to some guys on TheNewX to try and get this done right and on time ...but I think one reason he built it was so he had a good reason to use his new welder ;) joking

I got him some chassis channel reinforcements and armor for his Jeep so we both won this time around haha. I don't build :p

Oh heck, hers is better just b/c of the meaning put in to it, haha! I had to pay for mine. That is an AWESOME gift. Get it dirty, yet?

Aw thanks Mel :)

Sadly the X really hasn't gotten dirty yet. I don't do much wheelin in the winter (cold + icy = buzz kill).
This spring it'll get a good workout though ^_^

Your hands look very intimidating when they are squeezing the life out of a poor little frog. And who is Miss Breasticles in the background?

lol but the frog is just blocking the Kelly's ring :p

I do think it's funny that we can have a hard time figuring who's hand is who's but Kelly can pick 12 square inches of you out of a crowd like it's nothin
