Probably shouldn't say much or even have brought it up lol. There is a ton of free themes for Vbulletin 4. A fixed theme would be nice honestly because those of us with larger screens tend to find our posting area literally a foot wide.

Here's 2 off the top of my head just for example purposes. It's all my 2 cents so if you don't want my input I'll stop. Simply say so.

^ Examples. Change the CSS templates and you can change any color of any part of it. Change the PHP and you can add any element you want into it. You could even have custom icons and better ways to show sub forums, etc.

Anyways. That's all I had meant. Like I said just some 2 cents. http://postimg.org/image/xf74im9e9/

Like I said, this forum was designed to be by the people for the people, so we are open to suggestions.

The only thing I don't personally like about the one on the right, that is encroaching on ClubXterra.org's colors. I do like the fact that you wanted to throw some colors in there. I say let the suggestions keep coming.

We are planning on a site upgrade this fall.. I have paid for some cool new things to be added. Yes the buttons and such can be changed out pretty easy but they will have to wait for a few months.. (Sept)

I do not mind these suggestions at all..

Ok will do :)

Those are basic themes. For example the one on the right could be changed to any color with ease.

A nice acid green would be cool, even a dark yellow, there's a lot of things you can do.

I can do it if you all need. I don't even need forum access. I can do the whole dang thing offline and it'd take maybe an hour at best. 30 mins more likely.

((I've always just been a helpful person when it comes to websites. Although I can be a bit pushy without realizing it. So tell me if I sound that way and know I don't mean it)).

My critiques:

Main XN: too many different and unnecessary blues.
XN-G: Too bright! Tone it down a bit. Also a mite sexist, if G stands for girl.
XN: black and orange text disappear against some of the gray backgrounds, as do the dark gray post controls over their bluish-gray fields (but I actually like that). This one is the easiest on my eyes.

As my rule of thumb, for every bright, saturated color not including white there should be two neutrals.

General critiques:
-Space allotted to username, icon, etc. is too wide. Just empty space doing nothing but being distracting.
-"What's New" button at the top is redundant (alternatively, the link to "New posts" can be removed in favor of the button)

I would highly recommend looking at colorschemedesigner.com to generate sets of colors that (scientifically) work together.

What I would think is interesting to try is creating a color scheme based on an Xterra: charcoal gray, silver, primary color as background (one for each known paint color), bits of amber and red (perhaps as "clicked link" colors) to represent lights.

Excellent suggestions. It looks Lowe the color schemes are the only big problem right now. Not a bad problem to have considering things. I like the orange as well, except that those are osu colors :p

XN-G was designed for a specific member who has a slightly extreme obsession with Pink
Never even noticed the "what's new" button till now. Show how much I pay attention to the title bar
I LOVE that idea for the Paint Themes.

The CURRENT XN color scheme needs to be set up as a permanent option if you're going to change it. IT' s PERFECT FOR MY EYES !!!

Other thank a few tweaks .. A buttons or two this one is done...

Next is the blue version

after I signed up yesterday the 'hey, thanks for just signing up click here for something.." text box you couldn't read the text. had to highlight it.
If i knew about this thread I would have taken better note of it.

Preview text is still a gobbleawful blue against the grey, but looks like you've hit the rest of the recent batch of complaints. Now, about the paint themed ones...

Ya know, the whole Advanced post page is that horrible blue.

Whatever you call it, it's when you hit 'Go Advanced' under the quick reply box on a thread and it opens the following

I've circled the blue up top, but below it's nothing but blue neon
